Job description

First Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quality Controller to join an international oil and gas company in the Edinburgh region.

What's on Offer:

  • A straight to perm position.
  • A £20 hr base rate.
  • A 37.5hr work week.
  • Dayshifts
  • Shifts consist of:
    • 7:30am to 4pm Mon to Thurs
    • 7:30am to 1pm Fri

This role will require you to conduct various methods of weld testing as well as coating inspection.

Essential skills, experience and knowledge:

The successful candidate must:

  • Have prior experience in a similar role, within an engineering environment
  • Must have certifications in one of the following inspections: PCN, CSWIP or ICORR.
  • Must have certifications in one of the following NDT processes: MPI, LPI or UT.

Responsibilities:Candidate will perform the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspection activities
  • Ensure good working practices are implemented and maintained
  • Oversee delegation of work to inspection team members, but equally be engaged in hands on inspection as well
  • Facilitate 3rd party inspector visits for inspection and final release
  • Ensure that all inspection records are accurately completed in a timely manner
  • Oversee final inspection of finished components prior to leaving the facility
  • Liaise with the fabrication, assembly and machining departments to optimise productivity
  • Report to and collaborate with the Quality Control Supervisor
  • Give full awareness and attention to risk and COSHH assessments
  • Comply with all HSE warnings and information
  • Comply will all company assigned PPE requirements
