FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the Water and Waste Water Infrastructure sectors for an experienced Design Engineer. This in an amazing opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to join their growing Engineering team.The successful candidate will be part of the design team which covers the investigation and detail design of clean and waste water network, civil engineering and other projects principally, but not wholly, related to the water industry.  Benefits as a Design Engineer:

 Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:
  • Performing required activities associated with projects (investigation, design, construction and completion) in line with client and company specifications, national standards and codes of practice 
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or project managers
  • Preparing and registering all relevant documentation, ensuring that all documentation is current, accurate and in compliance with company/Client requirements
  • Working in collaboration with other design/investigation disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
  • Ensure compliance with all CDM, Health & Safety, and environmental issues in relation to the development of sustainable solutions
  • Derive, select and manage innovative methods and use of materials & safe systems of work that will impact heavily on projects
  • Liaising with external agencies ensuring the investigation/design and construction phase runs smoothly
  • Liaise with internal departments / client to ensure schemes are designed using the most cost effective method available
  • Produce accurate statutory notices for work to be carried out on private land in conjunction with the client’s requirements for dealing with private land
  • Assist in the production of reports/information to the Lead Designer, Design Manager and Project Managers including clients when requested
  • Ensure Liaison with clients, contractors, government agencies, local authorities and suppliers throughout the investigation, Design and Construction phase
  • Ensure that all the relevant information for the H/S file and completions documents are available at the end of the project 
 Required Skills and Experience of the Design Engineer:
  • Educated to A levels or BTEC National 
  • Experience of using MS Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
  • Ability to demonstrate an initiative to work on their own and as part of a team
  • Have a good knowledge of water and waste water systems including associated MEICAT equipment
  • Experience of using AutoCAD 2D / GIS Software
  • Awareness of Process Safety
  • Good communication skills that can adapt to the audience (e.g. internal, clients, customers) 
  • Understanding of network modelling software and application per client
