Join our team as a Teaching Assistant in the Batley area, dedicated to supporting KS3 students with additional learning and behavioural needs. This full-time position offers standard hours from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/SEN needs in an educational or similar setting.
  • Ability to provide effective support and guidance to students with additional learning and behavioural needs.
  • Knowledge of SEMH and strategies for managing challenging behaviours.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
  • Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without Sponsorship.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to KS3 students with additional learning needs, ensuring they engage effectively in classroom activities.
  • Implement strategies to manage and support positive behaviour, fostering a conducive learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support students' academic and social development
  • Assist in the assessment of students' progress and needs, contributing to ongoing reviews and adjustments to support plans.
  • Support students in developing social skills, confidence, and independence both in and out of the classroom.
