We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the Leeds area for a Transfer Station Operative (manual labour).

What will you be doing?

  • Undertake all tasks in accordance with Veolia Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and Veolia Management System.
  • Operate the necessary plant equipment involved in the handling, sorting and transferring of waste.
  • Inspect incoming loads to ensure they comply with the relevant paperwork and site permit.
  • Ensuring the yard area is kept clean and tidy.
  • Marshalling vehicle movement around the site at busy times.
  • Assisting the site supervisor in day to day running of site operations.

What are we looking for?

  • 1 or more licences to include: Loading Shovel and/or 360 Grab (full training can be given but at least one of these licences is `preferred)
  • Waste and shredder experience is desirable.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
