Lead Estimator

Clearpath Recruitment are looking for an experienced Lead Estimator for our client in Battlesbridge, Essex to start asap.

The successful candidate will use industry experience and knowledge of Sprinkler Systems to provide detailed estimates and tenders for client projects, including cost estimates and work time estimates. Maintain existing client contracts and continuously seek out new clients and estimating opportunities. Provide guidance and support to Projects Estimator.

General Information and Key Skills

• 45-55k depending on experience.
• Previous experience within Sprinkler industry in a similar role.
• LPCB qualifications would be beneficial.
• Proficiency with CAD software is highly preferable.
• Familiarity with industry and British Standards is required.
• Hybrid. Office/Site as required.

Job Details

• Prepare cost budgets and cost estimates for new project works/small works/maintenance.
• Keep existing contracts up-to-date including making amendments, providing new cost estimates and maintaining communication with the client.
• Adhere to company standards and guidelines when analysing and providing estimations; focus on maximising profit and customer satisfaction, while minimising any potential risks to the company.
• Prepare detailed, well-written proposals for each client; adhering to client guidelines while offering competitive and comprehensive cost estimates and including supplementary documentation.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients, keeping a sales-minded attitude and seek out and build relationships with new clients.
• Keep detailed records of all estimation documentation, including site assessments and contract terms; update any existing contracts immediately upon agreement of new terms with client.
• Balance multiple quotations, proposals and estimations at once, ensuring each reaches the client within clearly defined deadlines.
• Liaise with other company departments to support business development and continuously innovate new profitable outcomes.
• Prepare and order all materials in a timely manner to support jobs to meet deadlines,
• support engineers and monthly invoicing.
• Technical and commercial appraisal of material and subcontractor quotations to ensure full coverage of the scope is priced.
• To chase all estimates and tenders on a weekly basis by telephone, with a view of building a relationship with clients and offering further support throughout the process to secure works.
• To keep all quote logs and cost sheets up to date per project to support other members of the team and accounting tasks.
• Prepare tender documentation and submittals.
• Lead the estimating function and provide guidance to Projects Estimator.
• To carry out any other ad hoc tasks as may be delegated to you by the Directors.
