We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our small yet busy finance team within a reputable firm of solicitors. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are looking to either begin their journey in accounting or further develop their existing skills. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain accounting records with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ensure Client Account ledgers are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Post payments and receipts efficiently.
  • Minimise the list of “transactions to process”.
  • Play a key role in accounting for property completions.
  • Chase and prepare client to office transfers.
  • Manage control of client account ledgers.
  • Engage in further accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations.
  • Raise overhead payments as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
  • Adaptability in a changing environment.
  • Patience, good manners, and a professional approach to work at all times.
  • Ability to use initiative and prioritise tasks and enquiries.
  • Reasonable Excel skills with the willingness to learn more.
  • Experience in a finance department is preferred.
  • A strong desire to learn about accounting in a busy finance team within a legal business.
