Position: Attendance Officer

Responsible to: The Headteacher

Principal Responsibilities:

  • To manage the attendance administrative tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the computerised registration system.
  • Monitor registers and identify patterns of concern.
  • Manage and coordinate daily calls to parents for attendance checking.
  • Contact parents of children who are ill or in an accident in the absence of the Medical Officer.
  • Attend meetings with outside agencies and County officials, e.g., Education Welfare Officer.
  • Collate attendance information half-termly for Year Heads, Senior Leadership Team, and Governors.
  • Increase the attendance of all students to above 96%.
  • Meet with students and parents to improve student attendance.
  • Present to staff on attendance trends and train staff to support attendance.
  • Continually look to improve attendance procedures and systems.
  • Administer first aid in the absence of the Medical Officer.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with SIMS software packages.
  • Data management and analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Full First Aid Certificate (training available if needed).
