About the Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS) to join a growing team on a long-term residential project in the High Wycombe area. The project involves the construction of a traditional new build consisting of 259 units, including houses and flats. Reporting directly into the Quantity Surveyor, you will support the financial and contractual aspects of the project, which is at its early stages with ground works already underway. The development has approximately four years remaining, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth.

Responsibilities for Assistant Quantity Surveyor

  • Assist with cost management, including budget estimation, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Support the QS in managing project expenditure and assessing variations.
  • Collaborate with contractors and site teams to ensure financial operations run smoothly.
  • Contribute to procurement processes and subcontractor management.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and assist in resolving disputes.
  • Manage payments, final accounts, and general financial administration.

Requirements for Assistant Quantity Surveyor

  • Previous experience with house builders and proficiency in COINS software is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of residential developments, particularly traditional build methods.
  • Hardworking, flexible, and eager to learn within a supportive team environment.
  • A team player with a positive and adaptable attitude.
  • Ability to commute to both the Ruislip office and the High Wycombe site (4 days a week split between the too, plus 1 day working from home).
