Receptionist Shift Leader

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a proactive and organised Receptionist Shift Leader to join our client (4* hotel) in Beaconsfield. The successful candidate will lead receptionist duties with efficiency, ensuring smooth operation during their shifts, especially on weekends. The role involves interfacing with clients, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling petty cash and credit transactions, and providing training to other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the front desk operations during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered at all times.

- Handle the check-in and check-out process in a friendly and efficient manner, assisting with guest inquiries and ensuring a seamless experience.

- Oversee and manage the petty cash fund, ensuring accurate and responsible handling of cash transactions.

- Process credit payments and reconcile transactions to maintain financial integrity.

- Train new staff and provide ongoing training to existing staff, ensuring everyone is informed of the latest procedures and policies.

- Organise and delegate responsibilities to other receptionists, fostering teamwork to maintain a smooth operation at the front desk.

- Address and resolve any issues that arise during the shift promptly and professionally.

- Serve as the main point of contact for guests and other departments during the shift, demonstrating exceptional communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

- Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance departments to address room availability and readiness.

- Prepare end-of-shift reports to summarise the day's activities, financial transactions, and any notable incidents.

Key Requirements:

- Previous experience in a hotel reception or a similar front-of-house role is essential.

- Strong leadership and organisational skills to effectively manage a team and front desk operations.

- Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanour to interact with guests and colleagues.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and handle the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the capacity to handle challenging situations with composure and efficiency.
