Shift Work: Monday to Friday, 12-hour shifts (days and nights)

Adecco is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join to a company in Beaminster. Our client is a leading company in the industry, committed to ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Job Description:

The Maintenance Engineer will ensure compliance & Food safety regulations and policies, and any other statutory/site requirements laid down in the SHEQ master system. You will provide an essential engineering service to production, carrying out routine planned maintenance, reactive breakdown repair of the site's mechanical and electrical installation, and providing support to ensure the production schedule is achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and FSSC22000 & IFF Policy.
  • Perform planned maintenance and servicing of the mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly checks and service schedules.
  • Participate in site project teams and contribute to their success.
  • Provide engineering cover and call-out when required on shift to meet production requirements.
  • Assist in the planning and supervision of contractors' work, including permit control.

Key Challenges / Success Criteria:

  • Energy Saving: Monitor plant operation and processes to identify energy-saving measures that do not affect plant efficiency, operation, or reliability.
  • Maintenance Costs: Identify cost-saving measures in maintenance procedures that do not affect plant efficiency, operation, or reliability.
  • Efficiency / Reliability: Identify improvements to equipment that will increase the efficiency and reliability of the plant in the short or long term.

Professional Competencies:

  • Engineering Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) & HNC/D.
  • Mechanical proficiency with respect to the use of hand and machine tools.
  • Electrical proficiency with single and three phase supplies to 17th / 18th edition standard.
  • Previous experience in the dairy or food industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with PLC controlled plant.
  • Experience with steam raising plant and its maintenance.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems.

  • Ability to work on own initiative with a positive attitude.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work with on-site staff and contractors in an advisory capacity.
