Procurement Assistant

£27,500 plus benefits

Carlisle, Cumbria

MC Technical Recruitment are partnered with a leading Energy business, currently seeking to recruit a Procurement Assistant to provide procurement support for the business, working closely with other departments as needed. The Procurement Assistant will be based in their offices in the Carlisle, Cumbria area.

As a Procurement Assistant, you will be responsible for:

 

        • Supplier relationship management, including onboarding, updating and maintaining of supplier spreadsheets
        • Managing and approving supplier lists ensuring all documents are up to date
        • Supporting the Head of Procurement with tender evaluations and speaking with suppliers to gain information
        • Creating and issuing Purchase Orders and liaising with the finance team
        • Carrying out online procurement transactions
        • Monitor compliance of procurement policies, industry standards and legal regulation, etc.
        • Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, contractors and service providers
        • Provide spend analysis and reports on the PSL
        • Monitor financial standing of suppliers
        • Administration of the company vehicle fleet including fuel card management, booking vehicles in for repairs, managing insurance claims and DVLA checks
        • Other duties as required

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

 

        • Experience working within a similar procurement focused role
        • Willingness to learn new systems and skills
        • Good financial understanding and business acumen
        • Experience of managing multiple tasks at a time
        • Customer service communication skills
        • IT proficient – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
        • Problem solving
        • Attention to detail
        • Analytical skills and a willingness to take ownership and accountability for projects to see through to completion
