We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Multi-Skilled Engineer. The role involves working on autonomous, preventive maintenance programs, addressing breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement projects and refurbishments. Ensuring machine safety and adhering to safe working practices are paramount in this position.



Day to Day of the role:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to achieve maximum productivity and resolve problem areas during shifts.
  • Deliver sustainable preventative maintenance and provide a reactive and efficient breakdown service on operational equipment.
  • Follow a set program of preventative and autonomous maintenance.
  • Respond to breakdowns as directed by the shift team leader.
  • Develop a "can do" approach to all tasks, completing them in accordance with relevant work procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering team leaders and maintain a high level of efficiency and professionalism.
  • Adhere to 6S practices and procedures, ensuring work areas meet BRC and 6S standards and comply with health and safety requirements.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team in planned and emergency breakdown situations.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • GCSE Grade 4/C level or above.
  • Qualified in at least one core discipline (Electrical or Mechanical) with a strong understanding of the second.
  • Experience in production equipment maintenance and refurbishment.
  • Engineering background with mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of the plastics manufacturing industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and sound judgement skills.
  • Ability to manage risk and take personal accountability for work quality.
  • Reliable and a good team player who can also work under their own initiative.
