About the Role
As a Controls Engineer, youll play a key role in the commissioning, optimisation, and improvement of advanced automated systems. Youll work closely with a team of skilled engineers to deliver creative, practical solutions that meet unique customer needs.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Programming and tweaking control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
- Troubleshooting and fine-tuning mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational assessments to keep things running smoothly.
- Finding opportunities to improve systems and making recommendations to the team.
- Testing and documenting results to ensure future progress and innovation.
- Working hands-on with systems at customer sites, including travel across the UK and abroad.
About You
Were looking for someone who loves a challenge and thrives in a hands-on, technical environment. To succeed in this role, youll need:
- Solid experience with PLC programming and HMI software (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar).
- Knowledge of servo drives, VFDs, and industrial networks like Ethernet or Profibus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret technical schematics.
- Bonus points if youve worked with robotics (especially 6-axis systems).
- Great communication skills and a proactive, team-focused mindset.
- Educated within Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
