Secondary Science Teacher

Full-Time (5 days per week)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15 - 15:30 (including planning and marking time)

Our Clientisseeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher to join theredynamic team. The successful candidate will teach across the science curriculum, covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons. The role will also involve providing constructive feedback, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the academic development of our students. This position is full-time and offers the opportunity to work with a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for Secondary school students, ensuring the content is aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Student Assessment: Regularly assess and monitor student progress through both formative and summative assessments, adapting teaching methods as necessary to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Marking and Feedback: Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work, including written assignments, lab reports, and exams. Mark coursework and tests promptly and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment where all students feel safe and motivated to succeed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Science department and other staff members to develop teaching resources, share ideas, and contribute to departmental meetings and school initiatives.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and review of the Science curriculum to ensure it is relevant, engaging, and meets the needs of students at all levels.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in a Science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • Previous experience teaching Science at the Secondary level (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum for Science and the ability to teach across multiple science disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a passion for Science.
  • Strong assessment skills and the ability to provide effective feedback to students.

Hours & Pay:

  • This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 08:15 to 15:30, including planning and marking time.
