Salary: Up to 55,000 (Plus Excellent Benefits and Flexible Hybrid Working)

Irwin and Colton are excited to be engaged on an exciting new opportunity with a Multi Academy Trust of 52 schools across London. The organisation is a non-profit charity with over 25 years in the education sector, that aims to eliminate inequality in education across socio-economically disadvantaged areas. The federation also operate a training centre for teachers, whilst their head office is based in Croydon. The role will focus primarily on managing numerous school sites, working closely with the Head of Health and Safety to ensure organisation wide compliance. This includes conducting site visits, producing action plans to resolve any issues and encouraging a positive health and safety culture across each academy.

Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Manager will include:

• Champion and promote health and safety awareness across the federation.
• Work closely with the Head of Health and Safety to progress and improve health and safety compliance across the estate.
• Deputise for the Head of Health and Safety in their absence.
• Provide advice, guidance, and support to internal and external stakeholders across the organisation with regards to health and safety legislation, issues, and compliance.
• Develop and deliver in house health and safety training, as appropriate.

The successful Health and Safety Manager will have:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. i.e., report writing
• Excellent organisational skills, with high level of attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team, working effectively with people across a wide range of levels and responsibilities.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload and work on own initiative.
• Commitment to delivering excellent level of professional service.
• Ability to remain calm and deal with challenging situations in an appropriate manner.
