We are thrilled to be supporting a specialist secondary school with their search for an Assistant Headteacher, with a strategic focus on Behaviour and Attitudes. This role is perfect for current staff members eager to enhance their leadership skills and make a significant impact on our academy’s environment and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Daily Operations: Oversee the organisation and assurance of academy routines and systems.
- Pupil Progress: Develop and promote high-quality behaviour and attitudes to support pupil progress.
- Pastoral Care: Monitor, implement, and evaluate pastoral aspects to promote pupil progress and achieve appropriate attainment levels.
- Staff Development: Conduct appraisals and support the development of assigned teams.
- Pupil Welfare: Manage pupil pastoral care, including attendance, engagement, and behaviour.
- School Development: Take responsibility for specific aspects of the school development plan.
- Safeguarding: Handle safeguarding duties, including deputising for the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) when necessary.
- Risk Assessments: Produce and deliver risk assessments across various areas, including Remote Learning.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships within the academy and the wider community.
- Vision and Values: Develop and deliver strategies to embed the academy’s Vision and Values statement.
- Special Roles: Take on the role of either SENDco or DSL, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Proven experience in educational leadership, particularly in managing behaviour and attitudes.
- Strong understanding of students' pastoral needs and effective strategies for promoting engagement and positive behaviour.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
- Qualifications for SENDco or DSL roles are advantageous.
