Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 17.00pm

Thames Ward cares for a diverse group of high-risk, high-need service users transferred from prison, secure hospitals, and general adult wards. It works closely with the admission ward on site to manage acute referrals into the forensic pathway. Thames Ward functions as a high-dependency ward, for those not requiring intensive care but also not ready for longer-term rehabilitation. As such it offers opportunity for both psychological assessment and intervention, in both individual and group modalities.

You'll find solutions to solve everyday problems for patients such as:

  • Providing, highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions to support patients’ needs.
  • Efficiently managing a caseload to formulate and implement strategies to meet your patient’s goals.
  • Working within or alongside a multi-disciplinary team to effectively assess and intervene with your patients’ psychological needs.
  • Mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff, including students

What you’ll need:

  • Degree in Psychology & Post-Graduate Doctorate
  • HCPC Registration
  • Experience of working as a qualified specialist clinical psychologist for a minimum of one year
  • Relevant specialist training in the skills required for the specialty area

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
