Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Secondary Drama Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in South London. We are seeking a dedicated professional to teach KS3 and KS4 Drama, engaging students and fostering a love for the performing arts. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering creative, high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum, preparing students for performances, assessments, and GCSE Drama exams, and leading extracurricular activities such as drama clubs and school productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver inspiring drama lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing effective feedback
  • Organise and direct school plays, productions, and performances
  • Lead and support extracurricular activities, including after-school drama clubs
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance the school's performing arts offering
  • Maintain strong classroom management and foster a positive learning environment

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Drama at secondary level, including GCSE
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for theatre and the performing arts
  • Proven ability to inspire and engage students

Desirable:

  • Experience directing school productions
  • Involvement in extracurricular drama activities
