We are in search of a meticulous Finance Assistant to join our team. The role entails diligent maintenance of financial records, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and managing supplier and debtor accounts. The successful candidate will possess a background in accounting within a commercial environment, exhibit strong numerical acumen, and demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability and social development.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Accurately update cashbooks and record petty cash transactions.
  • Oversee the Purchase Order process and onboard new suppliers.
  • Process supplier invoices and prepare payment batches for review.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of supplier accounts and debtor analyses.
  • Manage daily cash reconciliations and maintain precise transaction records.
  • Process journals for salaries, stock, depreciation, and accruals.
  • Maintain the General Ledger and ensure systematic filing of all account documentation.
  • Support the Finance Manager with various duties as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • AAT qualification or equivalent accounting experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in an Accounts Department within a trading entity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel; Sage 50 experience is advantageous.
  • Independent worker with the ability to also contribute effectively to team efforts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the capacity to multitask and prioritise workload.
  • A belief in individual potential and the value of community support.
