Your new companyHays are working with a local manufacturing business in the Bedfordshire area who are seeking a highly skilled and Qualified Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, conducting cost analyses, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial management principles.

Your new roleA Qualified Accountant is required for the role with a great understanding of the finance function, preferably within manufacturing and distribution industries. The role will be directly responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts, business performance reporting and annual statutory accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Co-ordinate the month end close timetable ensuring all deadlines are met across internal teams.
  • Responsible for the preparation of management information and internal reports, assessing the business performance against KPI's, budgets and forecasts.
  • Present and explain business performance to key stakeholders across the business
  • Lead company VAT compliance across multi-countries
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and audit packs, liaising with external auditors where appropriate
  • Support Financial Controller across all areas of accounts as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Accounting Expertise: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management techniques.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing and analysing financial reports.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and advising.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
  • Certification: Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Experience: Several years of experience in Management Accounting, Finance, Business Partnering and Financial Management roles.
