Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our client’s clinical operations laboratory team in Bedford. Reporting to the Clinical Laboratory Team Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting projects by ensuring the smooth preparation and processing of clinical samples.

This temporary position is ideal for someone with prior laboratory experience, who can work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Management: Receive samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and print labels for identification.
  • Sample Preparation: Handle, allocate, and store clinical samples with precision and care.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular checks of sample inventories in fridges and freezers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Clinical Laboratory Technicians to support a variety of laboratory activities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably a clinical laboratory.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science (Biology or Chemistry), English, and Maths.
  • Strong organisational skills and reliability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel). Experience with LIMS is highly desirable.
