Quality Engineer Location: Bedford Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP50,000 per year, DoE Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5.30pm. Friday 9am - 3pm Job type: Full-time, permanent Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their ever-expanding team. As the Quality Engineer you will oversee the quality control processes within the manufacturing environment. Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer: Quality Improvement 路 Implement formal quality control procedures based on best practices. 路 Define shop floor processes and procedures in collaboration with operational teams. 路 Identify and implement new processes and equipment to enhance production efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Quality Assurance & Compliance 路 Ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards. 路 Investigate and report non-conformances and customer complaints. 路 Carry out internal audits and support supplier audits in collaboration with purchasing teams. 路 Monitor supplier quality performance criteria and ensure adherence to set standards. 路 Manage and control equipment calibration. Data Management & Performance 路 Collect and analyze quality performance data, including reporting in management review meetings. 路 Monitor and support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights. 路 Provide regular quality reports, including technical-related debit notes and customer returns analysis. Training & Team Support 路 Conduct quality induction training for all new employees. 路 Organize and oversee local quality training within the department and factory. 路 Support teams with documentation and modifications of the Quality Management System (QMS). 路 Lead and document quality meetings to address ongoing issues and improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration 路 Cooperate with purchasing teams to enhance supplier quality performance. 路 Support client and customer correspondence regarding quality-related inquiries. 路 Ensure product UL compliance and other regulatory requirements are met. 路 Align with corporate values, ethics, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments. Requirements of the Quality Engineer: 路 Proven experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment. 路 Knowledge of metal component handling, storage, and movement best practices. 路 Strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills. 路 Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization. 路 High level of accuracy, responsibility, and attention to detail. 路 Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. 路 Familiarity with MS Office and data management tools. 路 Commercial and financial awareness related to quality control.
