My client is a well-established, privately owned specialist Civil Engineering contractor that has undergone a successful growth period and has become a leading player in the market. To continue this growth, they are looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to become a key part of their delivery team.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Set the highest possible leadership standards in promoting HSEQ procedures and best practices.
  • Prepare and update detailed work programmes and communicate them with the site teams and head office to ensure they can be delivered promptly.
  • Ensure that weekly reviews of safety, progress, budgets, and planning are completed with the site teams.
  • Liaise with Directors, Safety Advisors, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers to ensure clear communication and achievement of project deliverables.
  • Identify and fulfil resource requirements, focus on business priorities, and stay within budget.
  • Identify procurement and material requirements, ensuring they are procured per company policies and procedures.
  • Provide clear communication, direct management support and reviews to teams under management.
  • Chair and attend internal and external pre-start, construction, commercial, engineering and HSEQT meetings as required.
  • Build positive relationships with clients delivery, management and leadership teams.

Essential Competence & Training:

  • SMSTS
  • NVQ Level 6 Diploma
  • CSCS Black Card
  • Appreciation of NHBC, LABC & equivalent standards
  • Relevant sector experience in a similar role
  • Good time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills at all levels of an organisation
  • Collaborative approach to working
  • IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft programmes, including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook

Desirable Competence & Training:

  • Experience operating within a similar role
  • NVQ Level 7 Diploma in Senior Site Management
  • Application of Microsoft Project
