My client is a well-established, privately owned specialist Civil Engineering contractor that has undergone a successful growth period and has become a leading player in the market. To continue this growth, they are looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to become a key part of their delivery team.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Set the highest possible leadership standards in promoting HSEQ procedures and best practices.
- Prepare and update detailed work programmes and communicate them with the site teams and head office to ensure they can be delivered promptly.
- Ensure that weekly reviews of safety, progress, budgets, and planning are completed with the site teams.
- Liaise with Directors, Safety Advisors, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers to ensure clear communication and achievement of project deliverables.
- Identify and fulfil resource requirements, focus on business priorities, and stay within budget.
- Identify procurement and material requirements, ensuring they are procured per company policies and procedures.
- Provide clear communication, direct management support and reviews to teams under management.
- Chair and attend internal and external pre-start, construction, commercial, engineering and HSEQT meetings as required.
- Build positive relationships with clients delivery, management and leadership teams.
Essential Competence & Training:
- SMSTS
- NVQ Level 6 Diploma
- CSCS Black Card
- Appreciation of NHBC, LABC & equivalent standards
- Relevant sector experience in a similar role
- Good time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills at all levels of an organisation
- Collaborative approach to working
- IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft programmes, including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
Desirable Competence & Training:
- Experience operating within a similar role
- NVQ Level 7 Diploma in Senior Site Management
- Application of Microsoft Project
