Greenacre are happy to working alongside a Bedfordshire based housing association in their search for a permanent building surveyor to join their asset management team. They are looking for a technically minded surveyor, with excellent social housing knowledge as well as the softer skills required to sensitively engage with residents.

This role is remote, covering a Bedfordshire patch. Applicants must live within one hour of Bedfordshire.

The job includes:

  • Deliver 1-2 million asset investment programmes (approx. 15 projects per year)
  • Be responsible for approx. 15 courts, to provide technical assistance to court manager regarding complex repairs.
  • Carry out Fire Risk Assessments for designated patch.
  • Carry out Housing health and safety rating system (HHSRS) for designated patch.
  • Carry out 2 annual resident engagement meeting designated patch. (Building safety related)
  • Annual stock condition reviews.

Essential

  • Experience (5 years) in a surveying role in a housing association, or social sector.
  • Full contract administration responsibilities of a range of technical and complex major works projects; including preparing tender documentation, cost analysis and budgetary control, site management, supervising contractors, quality control and certification.
  • Robust understanding of current health and safety legislation, CDM (including Principal Designer experience) and comprehensive knowledge of other building related statutory obligations.

Desirable

  • Experience of performing the role of fire risk assessor including up to date training record
  • Qualified energy assessor with experience and expertise in calculating RdSAP in buildings.
  • Fully proficient in CAD design work
  • Experience (5 years) in a surveying role in a private practice, local authority, or similar.
