Senior Building Surveyor

Edford (Hybrid)

Up to £52,000 per annum

Full time (37 hours per week)

We are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to lead, develop and grow our building surveying function within bpha. You will become an integral part of our in-house maintenance management team, helping to shape and develop our processes, systems, and approach, to ensure bpha are proactively managing the condition of their customer homes and meeting our legislative requirements.

You and your team will be responsible for completing a full range of technical surveying duties and will work closely with colleagues and our contractors to ensure that issues identified are resolved swiftly, to a high standard and provide long lasting solutions.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensuring that bpha properties remain fit for human habitation, and free from any hazards that would impact upon the health or the ability for the customer to use and enjoy the use of their home and communal spaces.

  • Responsible for developing a highly motivated, empowered, and engaged team, that proactively work together and with other colleagues to contribute towards delivering bpha’s vision and corporate strategy.

  • Ensuring that we use building pathology to develop solutions for a range of building defects, their causes, and remedies. Ensuring that risks are mitigated swiftly, and repairs are undertaken to a high standard and provide a long-lasting solution.

  • Being an integral part of the in-house maintenance team’s management structure, helping shape and develop our processes, systems, and approach to completing repairs within our customers’ homes, and responding to changes in legislation as they arise.

  • You will take responsibility for implementing, enforcing, and maintaining and strong culture of health and safety within your team, that can be evidenced and stands up to scrutiny and audit.

  • Ensuring that we provide a customer first approach in the building services team, that keeps customers at the hearty of the decision we make.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Building Surveying

  • AssocRICS qualified or working towards this qualification.

  • Prepared to undertake an MRICS accreditation for personal development

  • Certified HHSRS Practitioner

  • Experienced construction professional with sound knowledge of maintenance and repair works

  • Good knowledge & experience of landlord responsibilities, construction & housing health and safety

  • Experience working in the social housing maintenance sector, either client or contractor side
