Apex Care Homes is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team in providing nutritious, balanced meals for our residents. You will play a vital role in meal planning, preparation, and ensuring that dietary requirements are met in accordance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Planning & Meal Preparation: Design and prepare diverse, seasonal menus that meet the nutritional needs of our residents, including special diets where necessary.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee the cleaning and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, manage food supplies, and ensure proper labelling and storage of food items.
  • Compliance & Training: Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure all mandatory training is up to date. Supervise and train junior staff as required.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, particularly within a care home setting.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards, menu planning, and dietary needs. Basic computer skills for managing orders and supplies.
