We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Psychology and Criminology Graduate to join a fantastic team in Bedford, where you will be supporting children and young adults with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This role is ideal for a Psychology and Criminology graduate who is enthusiastic about applying their academic knowledge in a practical, impactful way. You'll play a key role in supporting students to develop positive coping strategies, improve their mental health, and build essential life skills.

Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant/psychology and Criminology graduate

Salary: £460 - £500

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children and young adults with SEMH needs.
  • Implement tailored interventions to support emotional regulation and behaviour management.
  • Work closely with educational staff and support teams to create a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Use psychological and criminological insights to inform your approach to individual and group challenges.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, documenting key developments.
  • Build trusting relationships with students to empower them to reach their full potential.

What We're Looking For:

  • A Psychology and/or Criminology degree (or similar field).
  • A passion for working with children and young adults, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassion, resilience, and a positive approach to working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to commute to Bedford
