We currently have an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join bpha’s In House Maintenance Service, who make a difference to our customer’s lives everyday by delivering a high-quality repairs service designed around them.

We operate across Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and surrounding areas, and we utilise the latest technology to ensure that we not only deliver a great experience for our customers, but for our colleagues as well.

We are looking for a Contracts Manager to join our newly formed Small Works Team. They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our contracting partners and repairs & voids inspectors, working in both void properties and our customers’ homes; and to be an effective member of the IHMS management team.

You will be professional, respectful, adaptable, self-motivated, take pride and ownership of your workstream, able to resolve the challenges it encounters, whilst keeping the customer at the heart of the services we deliver

What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for ensuring that repairs inspectors and external contractors operate within a strong culture of health, safety, environment, and quality that can be evidenced, stands up to scrutiny and audit

  • You will ensure that all members of the Small Works internal delivery team have clear goals and performance expectations set

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, encouraging, and maintaining a Small Works contractor delivery team who have a customer centric, right first-time culture.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of works to be undertaken by the contracting partners within the IHMS.

  • You will maintain good supplier controls within the Small Works team, ensuring that suppliers deliver services for the IHMS

  • Responsible for ensuring that all works delivered by the Small Works in-house delivery team offer value for money and operate within the constraints of the budget

We’d love to meet someone who has:

  • Minimum 2 years in management position within property maintenance or similar service

  • Ability to take ownership of issues/problems and personally see them through to delivery

  • A strong, demonstrable commitment to excellence in customer service and partnership working with colleagues across the organisation.

  • A proven track record managing or supervising external contractors to achieve an excellent service

  • Educated to HNC, HND, CIOB, an equivalent degree or substantial experience in a similar role

  • Full UK Driving Licence
