As a market leader in the design and manufacture of innovative processing systems. We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our Production Team. To keep us at the forefront of our industry we have an active R&D department where new ideas and machines are continually developed by a small team of skilled engineers.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cad Design Engineer to work with the team. The successful candidate will have good engineering knowledge of:

  • Convert sketches and ideas into working drawings.
  • Work with AutoCAD
  • Inventor 3D software
  • Understanding of sheet metal, electrics, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • a track record in a design background, ideally within the food industry, or an engineering environment.

This is an office-based role however some time will be spent working with the team in R&D. The Ideal candidate would be somebody who is never satisfied and always looking at different ideas and better ways of making things.

Main Duties:

  • Working with an enthusiastic R&D team to take conceptual designs and ideas to prototype stage and Production level.
  • Be able to communicate at all levels from the shop floor to Directors to achieve the goals set.
  • Be willing to learn new methods and apply them to new and ongoing designs.
  • Work with Value Engineering and efficiencies in mind.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role in a process engineering environment.
  • Proven history of a Design Engineering background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all parts of the business internally.
  • An enthusiastic approach with a 'can do’ attitude.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word
  • A knowledge of Steam systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and pipework, along with a basic understanding of electrical control systems would be highly beneficial.
  • UK Driving Licence required.
