We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join as dedicated team in Kempston. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing support to students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), ensuring their academic, social, and personal development within a safe and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for students with PMLD.
  • Prior experience in working with children or young people with PMLD, ideally in an educational or care setting.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each student.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and feeding, ensuring the dignity and safety of all students at all times.
  • Create and maintain a supportive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting support strategies in collaboration with the SEN team as required.
  • Utilise specialist resources and equipment to facilitate effective learning.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to student development.
