Role: Field Engineer  

Location: The company is based at Biggleswade in a brand-new 58,000 sq.ft manufacturing and office facility but ideally candidates would be located in the following areas:

  • The M3 Corridor to cover works into Central London and down to the South West of England and the Channel Islands.
  • North of Biggleswade to cover the northern half of the country and into Scotland

Hours: Full time

Salary: £43k + overtime + discretionary PRP bonus (or Employee Share Ownership) + Salary reviewed annually. OTE comfortably > £55k +

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Field Engineer to join our clients successful team.

Who are we?The world’s foremost designer, manufacturer and installer of some of the world’s largest doors, ranging from fire station doors, through aircraft hangar doors and on up to 70 metre high doors for rocket launching facilities. The Company does business all around the world.

What we would like from you:

  • At least 5 years' experience in maintaining other types of industrial door (such as Roller Shutters, High Speed Doors, Sectional Doors, Sliding Gates etc.) or possibly with a lift engineer or overhead crane engineer background. We do not expect previous hangar door experience.
  • Mechanical Electrical engineering background.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • 18th Edition / Electrical qualifications.
  • IPAF/DHF-trained.
  • CSCS Card(s) with a strong understanding of working safely.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Positive and conscientious attitude with a team player mentality.
  • Good level verbal and written communication skills.

Overview:

  • Reporting to our Spares & Service Manager.
  • Full-time (Monday – Friday), Permanent.
  • Monday – Thurs: 07.30 – 17.00hrs; Friday: 07.30- 15.30hrs.
  • Working alone or sometimes as a pair.
  • Customer liaison on a daily basis.
  • Completing post-visit service reports on our online systems.
  • Requiring daily travel and sometimes staying away for up to a week at a time.
  • Occasional request for weekend work with ‘in lieu’ days provided.
  • Possibility of occasional overseas assignments.
  • Will require you to become security / DBS cleared at an early stage.
