Expleo is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract, supporting our customer based in Cranfield, UK. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and testing of HILS (Hardware-In-The-Loop) systems for Body Electronics and Powertrain systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HILS/Labcar Testing:
  • Support/Lead the development of HILS systems for Body Electronics and Powertrain systems.
  • Manage HILS testing on the Electrical Integrated Platform.
  • Collaborate with test and design departments to resolve issues with HILS models and testing.
  • Serve as the focal technical point for all HILS-related matters with Japanese counterparts for functional, performance, and reliability validation to design/test standards/specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Test Planning and Execution:
  • Create test plans to meet project and design milestones.
  • Develop testing procedures, confirm vehicle specifications, and arrange test parts and vehicle transportation as required.
  • Coordinate overall vehicle test activities as needed (project leader role).
  • Formally report test results to design sections and upper management.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and recommend countermeasures.
  • Provide field investigation support on occasion.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English.
  • Experience with software application into automotive ECUs in a manufacturing environment, including flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration.
  • Ability to risk assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans.
  • Knowledge of network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Proficiency in using D-Space, CANalyzer, CAPL, CANoe, CANape, Matlab, or similar software for data capture, analysis, and test procedure execution.
  • Ability to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
  • Practical experience in problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with digital oscilloscopes and basic electrical test equipment.
