Pay Rate: £12 - 14 P/Hr + OT
Temporary: 6 month with possible extension.
B2 COUNTERBALANCE FORKLIFT LICENSE IS MUST.
Main purpose of the job
Our client based in Bedford is seeking a Depot Assistant to join our team on a short-term basis. This is a hands-on role, primarily focused on handling and preparing cabling for various events.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general depot tasks, assisting with day-to-day operations.
- Heavy manual handling of cabling, including lifting and moving items by hand and operating a forklift (FLT).
- Clean and prepare large quantities of returned cabling using jet-washing equipment, ensuring it's ready for future use.
- Conduct visual inspections of cabling (ranging from 3 to 50+ meters), checking for faults and ensuring sockets are in good condition. Report any issues found.
Requirements:
- A valid FLT (Forklift Truck) license is essential.
- Experience in an electrical role or previous work with cabling is highly desirable.
- This is a manual labor role which will include heavy lifting and carrying
