Job Description: Counterbalance OperatorLocation: Thurleigh, BedfordSalary: £25,000 per annumWorking Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
We are seeking an experienced and confident Counterbalance Operator to join our team in Thurleigh, Bedford. This is a fully outdoor role that requires someone who can work in all weather conditions. You will be responsible for unloading materials from the back of lorries, ensuring all items are in working order, and cleaning and organising materials. This is a physically demanding role, involving both forklift operation and manual handling tasks.
Counterbalance Operator Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a counterbalance forklift to unload materials from lorries, often handling uneven loads.
- Inspect materials to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Clean and maintain materials to meet operational standards.
- Stack and organise items in designated areas safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine forklift checks and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with manual handling tasks when not using the forklift.
Counterbalance Operator Requirements:
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence or certification.
- Proven experience handling uneven loads and unloading from lorries.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and handling heavy materials.
- Must hold a valid driving licence.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
