Our prestigious hotel, a leading establishment in the heart of Bedford, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Maintenance Manager to oversee the smooth running of all facilities. As a key member of the team, you will ensure our hotel maintains the highest standards of maintenance, safety, and functionality, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and external spaces.
- Manage and schedule routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Lead and supervise a small team of maintenance staff, ensuring efficient task allocation and quality work.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
- Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and hotel policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and ensure adherence to budgets.
- Report to senior management on maintenance status and improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in maintenance management, ideally within the hospitality sector.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Health and safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) would be advantageous.
