Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer
Location: Bedford
Salary: £50,000 per annum + shift premium £3,288.96
Type: Permanent, Full Time, Panama Shift (Days & Nights)
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical skills to join our client’s team in Bedford. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, product quality, and safety across plant and building services in their 24/7 facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently complete tasks to the highest standard, with a focus on root cause analysis and a meticulous approach.
- Maintain strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote safe working practices.
- Collaborate across departments to support operations and proactively address plant deficiencies.
- Safely operate both independently and as part of a team, adhering to company policies and using the CMMS system for job logging and communication.
- Challenge unsafe behaviours and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Recognised Engineering qualifications (City & Guilds, B.T.E.C., etc.) and prior maintenance engineering experience.
- Expertise in basic 3-phase and single-phase electrical systems, fabrication, and welding.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CMMS).
- Familiarity with Food Safety, HACCP, COSHH, IOSH, and Food Hygiene procedures.
- Additional licenses/experience in forklift operation, access platforms, and systems such as steam/boilers, pneumatics, and hydraulics are advantageous.
