We're looking for a motivated and organised Pallets Controller Team Lead at DS Smith's Blunham Site. This role will be ideal for the person who can efficiently manage the flow of pallets across the DS Smith sites.

Role - Pallets Controller Team Lead

Rate of Pay - £14.65ph, Overtime available for 42+ hours:

  • OT 1.5 Monday to Saturday
  • Double time on Sundays

Location- DS Smith Packaging, South Mills, The Ridgeway, Blunham, Bedford, MK44 3PH

Shift - Monday - Friday, day shift

Job Type: Temp to Perm, Initially for 3 months

Site Tour: 30th January,2025 with the view to start ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of 4 across the site Pitman shifts, ensuring smooth pallet movement and organisation.
  • Manage the sorting of returned pallets to maximise value for the business and ensure maximum stock availability for customer deliveries.
  • Work with pallet suppliers to ensure timely deliveries in line with agreements.
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently, minimising downtime and maximising performance.
  • Meet set performance targets and maintain consistent quality standards.
  • Ensure routine maintenance and cleaning tasks are completed according to schedule.
  • Contribute to improvement initiatives.
  • Occasional holiday cover for team members may be required.

Essential Requirements:

  • A valid FLT license is required. In-house licenses accepted.
  • Prioritise health and safety for yourself and others.
  • Takes initiative and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective in both verbal and written communication.
  • Works well with others and collaborates effectively.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards in all tasks.
  • Welcomes challenges and is adaptable to change.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience working in a production/machine operating environment.
