Job Description

Value Stream Mananger

The Company

An international engineering company that specialises in the design and manufacture of industrial components and machinery.

The Role

This role is responsible for reducing the non-value added elements in the value stream and eliminating waste in the overall supply chain from start to finish, for a defined product family and for ensuring that the value stream meets or exceeds customer requirements.

The work will include the following:

Defining the product family by conducting product routing analysis and appropriate groupings

Managing the activities of the shop floor within their value stream, machining processing and assembly, under the direction of the Director of Operations and follow established procedures and approved processes

Work closely with other departments such as Engineering and Sales on new product development and other related projects

Manage the purchasing and inventory control functions of their value stream in order to meet on time delivery goals and other company metrics

Plan, schedule and co-ordinate departmental activities to fulfil sales orders, meet inventory requirements and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion

Compile and maintain manual or computerised records such as material inventory, in process production reports

The Candidate

To apply for this role, you must

1. Hold a recognised technical engineering qualification

2. 3+ years experience in a supervisory / managerial role within manufacturing

3. Have thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques and related equipment

4. Have complete knowledge of production scheduling and machine shop operations

5. High mix / Low volume machine shop experience
