Workshop Assistant

Location: Outskirts of Bedford (Own Transport Essential)

Salary:  £12 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm

1st Choice is currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable manufacturing company seeking a dedicated Workshop Assistant to join their small friendly team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the assembly, production, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Prepare/clean materials required for various workshop tasks, mostly steel.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of workshop areas and equipment, mainly emptying and replacing dust bags safely.
  • Maintain inventory of workshop supplies and report shortages.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
  • General workshop duties and labour as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Good physical stamina, as the role will involve manual labour and heavy lifting.
  • Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
