Reed Further Education are working with a college who are seeking a Biology Lecturer to join their team. This role involves teaching A-level AQA Biology and BTEC Forensic and Criminal Investigation, along with responsibilities in academic mentoring and enhancement. This is a temporary position, ideal for educators who are passionate about biology and student development.

Job Title: Biology Lecturer

Working Hours: 30 hours, Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri

Role type: Temporary Ongoing – 22nd April to 1st July.

Location: Bedford

Salary: £26p/h to £35p/h including holiday pay

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Monday: Teach Year 1 BTEC Forensic and Criminal Investigation during Periods 1-2.
  • Tuesday: Conduct A-level AQA Biology classes for Year 1 during Periods 3-5.
  • Wednesday: Teach A-level AQA Biology for Year 1 during Periods 2 and 5, with an Enhancement session during Period 4.
  • Friday: Lead A-level AQA Biology classes for Year 1 during Periods 1-2 and 5-6, and conduct Academic Mentoring during Period 4.
  • Engage students in both theoretical and practical aspects of Biology and Forensic Science.
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students through mentoring sessions.
  • Enhance student learning and interest through innovative teaching practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in Biology or a related field.
  • Recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching A-level Biology and/or BTEC courses.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Experience in academic mentoring or student support is advantageous.
