We're working with a leading Special Educational Needs school in Bedford, known for their innovative and effective approach to education. Their commitment to fostering personal development, education, and training has earned them an 'outstanding' Ofsted rating. Now, they're looking for a dedicated and empathetic Psychology and Criminology graduate to join their team in Bedford and help support students with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for children and young adults with SEMH challenges.
  • Implement and monitor tailored interventions to assist with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and multidisciplinary teams to create a nurturing, safe environment.
  • Apply psychological and criminological insights to guide your approach to students' individual and group challenges.
  • Track and assess student progress, documenting key developments.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their personal growth and achievement.

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field.
  • A Genuine passion for working with children and young adults, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Compassion, resilience, and a positive, proactive approach to working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to commute to Bedford.
