My Client are seeking a customer-focused 1st & 2nd Line IT Support Technician to support
The client is a managed service provider who are supporting a client in the education sector.
The client requires an IT Technician to provide additional cover due to staff shortages. You will be providing support to three separate sites (Stevenage, Baldock, Bedford).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff and students across all trust sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues (desktops, laptops, printers, interactive displays).
- Support and administer Google for Schools and Microsoft 365, including Entra ID & Intune.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of the IP Telephony system.
- Install, configure, and update software (Operating Systems and Applications).
- Support network and Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
- Ensure all IT support tickets are logged, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and procurement.
- Provide basic cybersecurity awareness training to staff.
- Support IT-related projects, such as hardware rollouts and system upgrades.
- Maintain and update IT documentation.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in an IT support role (1st/2nd line).
- Experience with Google Workspace administration.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), and Intune.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Chrome OS.
- Experience supporting IP Telephony systems.
- Basic understanding of networking (Wi-Fi, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, Firewalls).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience in an education environment or school IT support.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools (ticketing systems).
- Knowledge of safeguarding and data protection (GDPR) in schools.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Google Certified Educator).
Other Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel between sites.
- Enhanced DBS Check. It would be preferable if the candidate already has an Enhanced DBS certificate, otherwise, we will pay for the check to be completed.
