Senior Electronic Manufacturing EngineerGTS is searching for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's innovative R&D team as a Senior Electronic Engineer. As such, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing existing products while overseeing the seamless introduction of new ones into manufacturing. You’ll also be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving production challenges, ensuring manufacturing efficiency, and upholding rigorous regulatory compliance.To be considered for this Senior Electronic Manufacturing Engineer, you will need experience in:
  • Supporting the transition of new products into manufacturing, ensuring all materials align with RoHS, REACH, UL, and EN regulations. You’ll also manage test procedures, assembly guidelines, test fixture designs, golden sample validation, and production approvals.
  • Assist in updating current product lines to optimize manufacturing efficiency and maintain compliance with evolving industry standards.
  • Oversee the relocation of product manufacturing to new facilities, ensuring continuity and quality.
  • Address production-related challenges by handling tasks within an Agile Kanban framework, tackling issues such as component obsolescence and increased failure rates.
  • Source and implement alternative electronic components to mitigate supply chain risks, reduce costs, and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with Design Engineers to enhance Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) practices, including developing test schematics and fixtures to refine production workflows.
  • Conduct supplier process audits worldwide, ensuring alignment with industry approvals like UL294, EN50131, and EN50130-4.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost-saving initiatives, troubleshoot field-reported hardware issues, support quality assurance escalations, and coordinate supply chain continuity.
What You’ll Need:
  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electronic Engineering and at least five years of post-graduate experience in a senior engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience introducing products into manufacturing, including build transfers, production ramp-ups, and conducting First Article Inspections.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for manufacturing build issues, including test fixtures and production line faults, as well as resolving product-related escalations.
  • Expertise in diagnosing faults within analogue and digital circuits and managing Bill of Materials (BoM), including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Knowledge of sourcing replacements for obsolete electronic components and experience in environmentally conscious design principles such as RoHS, REACH, CMRT, and TSCA.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the flexibility to travel periodically to manufacturer sites.
