Industrial Door Engineer

My client is well established globally in the design, manufacture and installation of large industrial doors. Due to ongoing success, they are looking to bolster their field team with a new Engineer. The successful Candidate will have a strong industrial door maintenance and repair background, although not necessarily large doors. You must also have an electrical background and be happy to travel and stay away as required.

• Routine maintenance of door installations (the vast majority of which are our own products).
• Occasional repair / parts replacement on door installations.
• Completing online service reports for finished works and recommendations to our Service team for any further works.
• Reporting to our Spares & Service Manager.
• Full-time (Monday - Friday), Permanent.
• Monday - Thurs: 07.30 - 17.00hrs; Friday: 07.30- 15.30hrs.
• Working alone or sometimes as a pair.
• Customer liaison on a daily basis.
• Completing post-visit service reports on our online systems.
• Requiring daily travel and sometimes staying away for up to a week at a time.
• Occasional request for weekend work with 'in lieu' days provided.
• Possibility of occasional overseas assignments.
• Will require you to become security / DBS cleared at an early stage.

• At least 5 years' experience in maintaining other types of industrial door (such as Roller Shutters, High Speed Doors, Sectional Doors, Sliding Gates etc.) or possibly with a lift engineer or overhead crane engineer background.
• Mechanical and Electrical engineering background.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• 18th Edition / Electrical qualifications.
• IPAF/DHF-trained.
• CSCS Card(s) with a strong understanding of working safely.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Positive and conscientious attitude with a team player mentality.
• Good level verbal and written communication skills.

Ideally candidates would be located in the following areas:

• Based around the Bedfordshire area to travel around the South and towards the Midlands and the North

• Salary up to £43k plus overtime plus discretionary PRP bonus (or Employee Share Ownership), pension and 33 holiday days (to include all UK bank holidays). Salary reviewed annually. OTE comfortably > £55k.
• Salary is paid 'door to door'
• Company Mobile phone.
• Service Tablet (software program).
• Company Van.
• Workwear/PPE provided.
• No call-outs and very infrequent weekend working.
