We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Town Planner to join a growing and reputable planning consultancy based in Bedford. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, contributing to a wide range of planning projects, and developing your skills in the planning field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals, and associated documentation.
  • Conduct site appraisals and provide planning advice to clients.
  • Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and the community to support the progression of projects.
  • Monitor and assess emerging planning policies and legislation.
  • Prepare reports and planning statements in accordance with client requirements.
  • Assist in managing a variety of development projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A strong understanding of planning policy and development control.
  • Previous experience working within a planning consultancy or local authority would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and a team player with a keen interest in planning and development.
