Employment/Regulatory Solicitor

We are seeking an Employment/Regulatory Solicitor to join our client's dedicated in-house legal team. This role is integral to providing expert legal advice and representation on a variety of matters including employment law, professional discipline/regulatory issues, clinical negligence, and inquests. As a key legal advisor, you will ensure our members receive the highest standard of support and empower them to navigate complex legal challenges with confidence.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide legal advice and representation on employment law, regulatory matters, clinical negligence, and inquests.
  • Manage a mixed caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment work, including tribunal claims.
  • Offer employee relations advice and assist with terms and conditions, including changes to these.
  • Handle regulatory work, offering advice to healthcare professionals facing investigations, complaints, inquests, or clinical negligence claims.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, tribunal responses, bundles, witness statements, and reports.
  • Contribute articles and legal updates.
  • Support team members with caseloads and collaborate to achieve organisational goals.
  • Maintain internal best practices for managing employee relations, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for the organisation, providing comprehensive legal support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Solicitor admitted on the SRA register.
  • Experience in employment law and/or fitness to practice proceedings.
  • Track record of legal advice and representation in employment disputes or before Tribunals.
  • Strong understanding of HR functions and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to contributing to organisational success.
Desirable:
  • Experience with healthcare professionals, NHS contracts, and Agenda for Change.
  • Clinical negligence and inquest experience.
  • Experience providing in-house legal advice and support.
