Implementation Lead

We are seeking an Implementation Lead to drive the delivery of key recommendations from the independent review of the People Services Function. This senior-level role focuses on implementing reforms and improvements with an emphasis on driving efficiencies. The successful candidate will lead the transformation independently, delivering cost savings, improved processes, and strategic realignment without a direct team.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the implementation of the People Services review, focusing on high-impact, cost-effective reforms ensuring alignment with future workforce needs and financial constraints.
  • Develop and deliver a clear, actionable project plan with defined milestones and deliverables based on the recommendations from the People Services review.
  • Transition the function towards a more generalist model which includes Organisational Development, enhancing flexibility, collaboration, and resource allocation/restructure if deemed appropriate.
  • Act as the primary liaison between senior management, People Services teams, and key stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.
  • Drive and motivate the People Services team to assist in delivering the project plan ensuring all staff within People Services are fully engaged with and understand the changes being implemented, fostering ownership of the transformation.
  • Identify and implement immediate cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to achieve operational efficiencies and optimise resources.
  • Streamline policies, procedures, and systems to reduce bureaucratic processes and improve service delivery utilising existing HR and other Service systems where possible to maximise capabilities.
  • Engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in for the changes.
  • Enable the introduction of Organisational Development across the Service.
  • Foster a culture of accountability within People Services, empowering staff and reducing the need for escalations. Establishing clear performance metrics to ensure that staff are held accountable for delivering results aligned with the strategic goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in leading and implementing transformation projects within HR or similar functions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to develop actionable plans and drive them to completion.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead without a direct team.
  • Experience in Organisational Development and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and processes, with the ability to streamline and improve them.
