Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently planning and adapting to changes to optimise the utilisation of our fleet within your region. You will need to understand the specific needs of vendors, maintain strong relationships with customers and drivers, and manage the logistics of collections and deliveries to ensure maximum performance and cost-effective resource use. Additionally, you will ensure that all KPIs and customer SLA requirements are consistently met while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Utilisation: Plan and adapt fleet usage to maximise efficiency within your region.
  • Vendor Management: Understand and address the unique requirements of vendors at each of your regional sites.
  • Customer & Driver Relations: Maintain effective communication and strong relationships with customers and drivers within your region.
  • Logistical Coordination: Coordinate and plan collections and deliveries, ensuring resources are used cost-effectively, and performance is maximised.
  • KPI & SLA Management: Work within established KPIs and customer SLAs, ensuring they are met at all times while maintaining excellent customer service.

Decision Making:

  • Work Allocation: Plan work in line with SLAs and business expectations.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently allocate vehicles based on their status and specifications.
  • Outsourcing Decisions: Make cost-effective decisions regarding outsourcing movements; negotiate with third parties to ensure the best possible pricing.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all transport-related paperwork is completed accurately and promptly. Prepare necessary reports for internal use and as requested by customers, analysing results to identify areas for improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with branches, drivers, and subcontractors to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Maintain clear communication lines with branches, drivers, and subcontractors.
  • Implement cost-effective planning strategies.
  • Reduce subcontractor costs.
  • Ensure all jobs are accurately completed within the Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Communicate all aborted jobs to the branch.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance appointments are met.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise daily tasks.
  • Experience in load planning.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
