About the Role
As part of the Engineering team, the role of the Maintenance Engineer is to support Eagle Brewery - Estrella Damm (Bedford) production site to ensure the correct and efficient functioning of the different areas of the site.
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be a key contributor to the successful production of the high quality beverages within Damm's portfolio.
Amongst other responsibilities, in this position, you will:
- Carry out Planned Maintenance and use the sites Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Respond to breakdowns as identified by Engineering or Production Operatives
- Install or modify plant as requested by the Engineering Managemen
Main Responsibilities
- Observe all safety procedures and follow good engineering procedures
- Carry out Planned Maintenance and use the sites Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Respond to breakdowns as identified by Engineering or Production Operatives
- Show a proactive approach and find solutions to problems
- Install or modify plant as requested by the Engineering Management
- Demonstrate effective documented handovers
- Self-prioritise work schedule when necessary
- Identify and order spares to facilitate plant efficiency
- Communicate with Production and Engineers verbally and via CMMS
- Liaise and work with all other departments to understand site problems
- Take ownership of engineering-based housekeeping responsibilities
- Manage and monitor Planned Maintenance adherence and recording
- Manage and monitor Site Calibrations and keep documentation updated
Experience
- Served a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
- Previous experience of working within the food and beverage production industry would be beneficial
Qualifications & skills
- Multiskilled
- Qualified in an Electromechanical engineering discipline
- Good working knowledge of best engineering practices
- Demonstrate bench fitting skills and fault diagnosis
- Possess knowledge of electrical/electronic systems inclusive of PLC's and be willing to continue professional development
- Possess knowledge to calibrate site instrumentation.
- Understanding of current H&S legislation
- Be flexible, reliable and confident in making own decisions
- Show confidence when communicating with other departments
- Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and to work unsupervised
