Job: Multi Skilled Engineer

Our client has built and maintained its reputation within the food industry through four generations which have instilled its entrepreneurial spirit in everything it has done over the last 150 years. Part of their success is a result of how they design, build, manage and maintain their machinery and the continuous investment which comes with it. Over the years their machinery has inspired some of the world's biggest companies to invest in them and the outcome of this has resulted in a variety of FMCG machinery being built to meet their expectations. Some of their most popular machinery has been Filling & portioning systems, Plastics engineering, Plant engineering and Machining centers, to name a few.

Their site in Bedfordshire is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join them. The successful candidate will mainly work on pre-delivery inspections, upgrades to machinery and assisting within our test facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete machine PDI's/ return check-in/functions tests
  • Fault finding and perform corrective action.
  • Complete attachment checks - check they fit correctly and are working.
  • Demonstrate machine function and capabilities for Customer demonstrations.
  • Maintain clear, accurate and timely records of all work undertaken.
  • Provide engineering support for the technical team.
  • Comply with industry/company Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workshop and department.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • Be Presentable, punctual and professional with customers.

Criteria:

  • Demonstrate you have experience working on completing PDI's, preferably in a sales environment.
  • Formal technical qualification/apprenticeship.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Health & Safety.
  • We are looking for someone with experience of working in team completing PDI's.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Energetic and able to think on their feet, with problem solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and confident, able to work alone as well as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate an eagerness to learn and develop.
